3 Months…and a week.

William I can not believe that you are already three months old!  You are just the sweetest baby.   You still love to cuddle and have me hold you.  We decided to get a baby bjorn. We never had one with Reeves but I need to be a little more hands free with you.  Luckily you love it!  I love that I can carry you around even more.

You smile all the time now and babble a lot.  You laughed for the first time when your dad was giving you a bath a few weeks ago.  I missed it but I’m glad your dad got to hear it.  Luckily I got to hear it this past weekend and I know its just a matter of time before your laughing all the time. Your gaga came over to visit and started tickling you and you just started. I still remember the first time I hear your brother Reeves laugh.  We were playing with a caterpillar toy he had.  Sorry I know this is your post but I didn’t blog or record anything when your brother was young and I don’t want to forget a memory like that.

The first couple months of your life you really only wanted me, of course I loved that but it also made me feel guilty about leaving you.  I felt bad for whoever I left you with and for you.  Now that you are a little older you seem to tolerate other people a lot more.  You are also able to be awake for longer periods of time  and concentrate on objects rather than just want to eat when you are awake.  It makes it a lot easier to step away for a little bit now and then.

Sometimes you do still get fussy.  You are so funny in that you don’t want a pacifier at all, sometimes you will suck your thumb but you would prefer my pinky to calm you down. I took a picture of this the other day just to document.  We love you so much William and can’t wait to see what new things you accomplish in the next month!

I heart Babywise!

I know some people will disagree with me, but I think babywise is the best!  Maybe I was just lucky with two boys who are great sleepers but the principles in this book really seem to work.

I am sitting here on a Friday night at 7:45 and both boys have been in bed for almost an hour now, and will be in bed until the morning.  Using this book I was able to get Reeves to sleep through the night by 5 weeks and William by 7.  How great it that!!??!!

I would recommend this book to anyone!

Reeves is 2!

I hope to post pictures from Reeves’ birthday soon.  I sat down to write this hoping to add some, but Bobby is not here and I can not figure this out. I know pretty pitiful.  Anyways we had a small gathering for Reeves’s birthday and he had a lot of fun. Thank you to everyone who made his day so special.  Reeves right now you are so much fun!  You add new sentences and new words everyday.  We are able to have little conversations and I love being able to talk more and more with you.  You love playing with your choo choos.  I think you would play with them all day if you could.  You are the best big brother William could ask for.  I should of known you would be incredibly sweet with him.  You have always been such a sweet boy.  You like to sing songs with me in the car and we switch between the theme songs to Elmo’s World, Yo Gabba Gabba, The Wonder Pets and of course…Barney.  Your favorite sentence right now is to say “I like …” and you rotate between all the special people in your life.  You also like to hide and give big family hugs with you in the middle of your daddy and I.  We love you so much and can not believe that you are already 2!

Rainy Day Brain Dump

It’s raining outside.  Both of my kids are still in their pajamas.  I know thats my fault because I am the one who dresses them.  For some reason getting them in clothes seemed like a waste of time today.

I wish West Ashley had a Starbucks with a drive-thru window.  Getting two kids out of the car just for a coffee is not worth it.

I think Reeves has played with his train table all day long.  I will post some pictures as soon as I figure out how to do that.  I know that sounds bad, but I think that is what happens when you have a husband who loves to do all the tech stuff around the house and knows how to do it.  I have almost no idea how to do any of it.

I know this post was completely random….sorry!

Date Night

Thanks to my mom, Bobby and I were able to have a night without children last night.  It was nice to get out of the house just the two of us, but it did feel a little weird not having a kid around.

We went downtown and met some friends for dinner/drinks.  I think we are both feeling the aftermath this morning.  Luckily my mom is taking the kids to church with her so we get a little more time to rest.  Thanks again mom!

Girls Night Out

Yesterday I was able to get out with two of my girlfriends and it was great!  We did dinner and a movie. We went to eat at Sesame and of course it was delicious and we saw country strong which was really good but also really sad.

When I got home both boys were already in the bed for the night.  Bobby did a great job of taking care of them for the night.  It was his first night alone with both of them but he handled it with no problems.  I love hanging out with my boys all day but it was nice to have a nice to have a little break.

Also William did a 5 hour stretch last night!  Woohoo!

1 Month

William, I can not believe that you are already a month old.  You are starting to stay up longer during the day, so I hope that means you are starting to differentiate between your days and nights.   You are starting to coo and look around at us.  Reeves really loves you and so do we.  I can not believe how fast this month has gone by.

Sorry I have been busy!

I know it is no excuse.  I really want to keep on top of this blog, but things have been a little busy around here.

First and foremost we have welcomed our second baby boy!  William Bradley Earl.  He was born December 16, 2010 at 5:44 pm.  He weighed 8 lbs 8 oz and was 21.5″ long!  He has been a wonderful baby so far.  We are so happy to have him in our family.

Secondly we had our Christmas!  It was so much fun this year with Reeves being older.  He was so much fun!  Of course we spoiled him more than we should, but we just couldn’t stop ourselves.

I promise I will post pictures later this week of William, Reeves and our Christmas. I got a fancy new camera for Christmas and have been taking so many pictures.  My New Year’s resolution is actually to start taking more pictures of our family.

Sorry again about how long it has been since my last post, I’m going to try to do better!

Busy Week

This past week has been really busy for us, but it has also been very exciting.  Wednesday  was our third anniversary.  We didn’t do much to celebrate that night, we went out later on in the week. I also had a doctor’s appointment.  We were worried this little boy was not in the right position and they may have to move him, so we did a little ultrasound.  The good news is he is in the correct position, the bad news, he was already measuring big.  I had to go in the next day for an ultrasound to determine his size and he is measuring about 2 weeks early.  So we may have our new one here a little sooner than planned!

Friday Bobby and I went out to celebrate our anniversary.  My mom came to pick up Reeves after work to have him stay with her for the night. We went out to Basil for dinner and it was delicious.  After dinner we headed over to the Hippodrome to see Harry Potter.  I loved it, Bobby said it was the worst one yet.   After the movie we headed home because it was past midnight and that is pretty late for us these days.

Today we headed over to Summerville to pick up Reeves.  We really don’t like to be away from him for too long.  We start to miss him to much.  We also had my work holiday party tonight over at the James Island county park.  We ate some good food and then drove around the park to see the Christmas lights.  Reeves really enjoyed the lights.  I love getting to enjoy those things with a child, it makes it so much more exciting.

Tomorrow we really don’t have much going on. Although I want to finish getting everything ready for the baby since he may be here before we know it.  Other than htat though we are looking forward to a nice relaxing end to an eventful week.

21 months!

I can not believe that Reeves is already 21 months old!  This age he is at is so much fun.  His vocabulary has really taken off, and it is really neat to be able to have mini conversations with him.  He is still such a sweet little boy;  although sometimes he does not like to hear the word no.  I guess that is one of the trade-offs for him to be able to tell me what he wants.  He loves to color, read books, Elmo, and watching Blue’s clues.  He also loves playing with all his friends, I’m so happy that he is so social.  We have yet to give him a haircut, I think it is getting close to that time.  I know they are going to cut all his cute little blond curls off and I am having a hard time with letting them go.  It seems as soon as a baby gets their first haircut they seem so much older.  I know i have to get it done soon though, some of his hair is getting out of control.  Well happy 21 months Reeves!
