Pirates
I love living in Charleston. I get to do things like I did today. Reeves and I(and my mom and nephews and niece) all went out on a pirate sailing adventure. We left out of Shem creek and sailed out to the Charleston Harbor. The kids even got to follow clues to find a treasure. Reeves was a little young to sit and listen to the pirate stories, but the ship was big enough that we could walk around. He had a great time and told Bobby all about it when he got home. I did promise Bobby that next weekend he could take Reeves out to do something fun and I would stay home with William.
Look who got to drive the boat:
Reeves and I on the boat. Do you see my awesome beaded necklace? Reeves got to pick some treasure out of the treasure box and he picked this out for me. He also picked out something for Daddy.
Reeves loved to walk all around the boat:
On our way back to Shem Creek we rode right by the spot where Bobby and I got married. I of course had to take a picture.
It was another great Saturday in a great city!
Blueberry Picking
Saturday afternoon Reeves decided he was not interested in taking his nap. I decided to take advantage of the fact that it was not too hot outside and Bobby was home to look after William to take Reeves out. We went out to Ambrose Family Farm and go to pick blueberries. We are CSA members there and have yet to make it out the the farm. We had a blast. It was really nice to get out and have some alone time with Reeves. No one else was at the farm at the time we were there so we had the entire place to ourselves. Here are a few pictures of the day.
Sunday morning I found this recipe using the blueberries for breakfast on Pinterest. It was delicious. Reeves was so proud of himself that we used his blueberries for breakfast.
6 Months!
William you are 6 months old…well really almost 7 now. You have pretty much mastered sitting up now and really love playing with Reeves. You can say mama now but thats it. Reeves said dada first so I feel it is only fair I get your first word. You are starting to try to move around and I don’t think it will be too long before you do. You can almost stand-up if you are leaning/holding on to something…with me right behind you of course. Your favorite place to do this is the train table. Luckily you have a really great big brother and he will give you a train to play with while you are there. You love to smile and laugh and have the cutest dimple on your right cheek. I feel like you have always been a part of this family, I can’t believe it has only been six months. In bad news you were sick for the very first time today. I am not sure if it is because you are teething or just sick. It was nothing too bad, just a small fever and lots of cuddling.
Summer Update
Lately we have been busy working on our summer bucket list and having lots of fun. I was worried this summer we wouldn’t be able to do to much since both boys are at such different stages but it has not slowed us down in the least. I guess it helps having two such great kids! :) I always consider July 4th sort of the mid-point for summer so I thought I would do a little update on how it is going. If you check out the previous post you can see that we have started checking off a few items, but we need to get busy. Now some pictures of the boys and some of the fun we have had so far.
Some backyard fun
One day at the beach
My date with Reeves to see fireworks (Bobby stayed at home with William since he is not a big fan):
Some of my sweet baby mastering sitting up…well trying to at least.
and last but DEFINITELY not least…the boys in the awesome Hawaiian outfits Ms. Lori got for them on her recent vacation. How amazing are these?!?
Sorry about the picture overload. Maybe I will go less than a month next time between posts and will not have to cram so much in.

William you rolled over! I didn’t see the first time you did it. It was during a nap on Saturday (May 7th). I went to get you out of your crib and you were laying on your belly. I was so shocked. Today we put you a play mat and you just kept rolling around. Great job William!
Easter Fun!
We had a fun few days here in our household. To start off Friday Reeves and I dyed Easter eggs. I was worried that it was going to turn into a huge mess, but Reeves did great. There was one point where he stuck a dye tablet in his mouth before it had dissolved. I got it out as fast as I could, but his mouth was a little discolored.
Saturday we had an Easter Egg hunt at our next door neighbor Mia’s house. Reeves had so much fun. It is great that he is old enough now to participate in an egg hunt. Here is Reeves on the hunt, the loot, and a few of sweet William too!
The rest of the day saturday we just hung out with the neighbors, which is always a great time.
Sunday we made our way to Summerville in the morning to go to church with my family. Reeves wore a tie for the first time. How cute does he look?
and here is William in his precious Easter outfit
After church and a few photo ops with my family we made our way over to Mt. Pleasant and had an lunch/dinner with Bobby’s boss/work family. We had another Easter Egg hunt and lots of great food and conversation. By the time we got back home we were all four pretty exhausted. Both boys went right to sleep and I don’t think Bobby and I were far behind.
4 Months!!
William you are four months old! I can’t believe it. I am trying to hold onto this infancy so much more than I did with your brother but it is still going by way too fast. You had your four month check up yesterday and your dad took you. You weighed in at 16 lbs 2 oz, and 25.5 inches. That puts you at the 75 percentile for both. You were at the 90th for both at two months, but you gained weight and height so everything looks great.
You are quite the chatterbox. Just tonight while I was cooking dinner I set you in the kitchen to hang out with me and you just talked the whole time. I love it. I know soon you will be saying real words and we will have so many conversations in that exact spot. You also love to talk to your brother. When I am driving you two in the car, you just love to talk to him. He loves to talk back and always gives you the sweetest smile.
You get to start food soon. I’m not ready, but you are. I am thinking of starting this weekend. I think you will love it. You have been grabbing toys and bringing them to your mouth. You can also almost turn over. You can roll from your back to your side. You love to do it. I can tell the way you stare at your brother that you can’t wait to be moving around with him.
Now finally…some pictures!
p.s. Your hair naturally does the mohawk.
Update!
I have been busy busy busy lately. My little sister is getting married this weekend, so we have been going every weekend with wedding showers and events for the big day! I am so excited for her. I know that she is going to be a beautiful bride and is marrying a great guy who I know will keep her happy. I can’t wait for Saturday!
Weddings always make me think about my wedding/marriage and I realize how lucky I am with mine. After almost 4 years of being married I still think it is a blast! He takes such great care of me and the boys and keeps me laughing all the time. I love you Bobby.
Now an update on the boys. Reeves is growing up way to quickly. The littlest change is always so bittersweet to me. For example, when told to say “thank you” he used to say “very much” instead. I guess I always say “thank you very much” or someone does. I’m not sure where he picked it up. However, now he just says “Thank you” and I find myself so sad about this. I know it’s a little silly.
William is becoming so much more vocal. He sat at dinner tonight and talked the whole time. Well babbled. He isn’t doing any “dada’s” or “mama’s” yet but it is still great to hear his voice. I have started reading to him at night. I know I started when Reeves was a newborn but at 3 months, well 4 months in a few days, I still think its okay. He LOVES the books. He gets so into them. It is the funniest thing. He notices who I am now when I walk in the room. I love both how both of my boys smile and their eyes light up when I walk in the room. It is the best feeling!
Well that is what we have been up to so far.
Whatcha Doin?
Reeves said this to me for the first time today. I was in the closet getting dressed and he walked in saying “Hey mommy, whatcha doin’?” Its so funny the things he is saying these days.
Bobby and I just dropped the kids off and are heading to Greenville for the weekend. We had plane tickets to go to DC this weekend but decided about a week ago we just didn’t want to go. But we are taking advantage of the arranged childcare for the weekend and heading up to visit some friends. We will hopefully take some pictures. ALL of our pictures lately are just the boys. Actually when looking around the house it seems all the pictures of Bobby and I are either from the wedding or before, pretty sad.
I am having a really hard time thinking about leaving the boys. I know we left Reeves for a weekend when he was a baby but he was a little older, I know he was already sitting up. We leave them with my parents for a night fairly often but we are still in town. I already miss them. I’m excited to get out of town but it feels really weird to me to be leaving them behind. I asked Bobby a few times if we could just take them with us, but that would defeat the purpose of this trip.
Its almost time to hit the road. If you are in Greenville hit us up!
